Seeking your thoughts in a short survey about sustainability in wood and paper-based products 

The World Resources Institute (WRI) and the World Business Council for Sustainable Development (WBSD) are gathering input to improve a guide and resource kit they've developed to help those of us who are active in the production and trade of wood and paper-based products. The report: Sustainable Procurement of Wood and Paper-based Products seeks to provide a general overview of the 10 top issues around sustainable procurement of wood and paper-based products. The report also refers to a number of resources (publications, initiatives, scorecards, etc) that might be useful when developing and implementing a procurement policy.

 

Notably, you need not be familiar with the current version of their publication nor its companion web site in order to complete the survey, but for reference it can be found at www.sustainableforestprods.org.

What is a touch plate?:

 

A touch plate, also called a "bump" plate, is an additional "hit" of color on top of an already existing print area. For example, if a 3 PMS color job needs one of the colors to print much stronger than the press will allow, a second plate for that color can be made and thus, 2 coats of ink will be printed for that specific color.
